Witch Hazel Dried Leaves
USES: Internally as an anti-inflammatory and hemostatic, to help arrest bleeding of the stomach, lungs, or other internal organs. The astringent action makes it a valuable treatment for diarrhea and dysentery. For treating varicose veins and spider veins, rub the tea or tincture into the affected area.
TINCTURE: Dried leaves to menstruum 1:5 (50A:40W:10Gly)
TEA: 1 tsp to 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes.
POULTICE: Mix leaves with little warm water and apply for the astringent, and drawing effect on swellings, tumors, stings, or venomous bites.
COMPRESS: Dilute 60 drops of tincture in 1 cup of water to heal postpartum stitches or hemorrhoids.
PRECAUTIONS: Not for extended use.
